Help Ban Trans Fat in NYC Restaurants

My main teacher, Joshua Rosenthal, and his school, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, are committed to playing a crucial role in improving the health and happiness of Americans, and through that process, creating a ripple effect that transforms the world.

Now is the time that a little effort from you can go a long way to create a major change in America.

Recently, the FDA ruled that all packaged food companies are now required to list trans fat amounts on their nutrition labels. Artificial trans fat, also know as partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, is causing major health problems. The mandatory labeling is a huge step for America, a country that is desperately in need of help in the area of diet, health and nutrition.

Well, I'm happy to say that the next step is here.

The Board of Health in New York City has proposed a plan to strictly limit the use of artificial trans fats in New York City restaurants. New York City is the largest city in the country and one of the most influential cities in the world. If we can do it here, we can do it everywhere!

Here's what you can do:

1. ATTEND THE PUBLIC HEARING

I will be a speaker together with Walter Willett, Annemarie Colbin and many others. We'd love your support!

Location: 125 Worth Street, near City Hall

During and after the hearing, we will be gathering across the street in Thomas Paine Park. This will be a lot of fun. There will be expert speakers, trans fat free treats, and hopefully lots of media. Your attendance will be greatly appreciated.
